Parinithi Kalakendra organised its ‘Kalamasika’, a monthly festival of music and dance, on December 9 at Shivamaya Sabhangana in Sagar, Karnataka. Akanksha Umesh, a disciple of Chaitraumesh from Bangalore, delivered a fabulous performance. She received a huge round of applause from the audience. Akanksha began her performance with a Pushpanjali in raga Revathi and tala Adi. She followed it with Devi Kruthi, a Thanjavur Sankara Iyer composition in Ragamalika. Concluded with a Varna in raga Reethigowla and tala Adi, a composition of Thirumalai Srinivasan and Devaranama, a Balamuralikrishna Thillana in raga Brindavani. Earlier, the programme was inaugurated by Dr Umesh Sorab, a lecturer and Vijayendra, a retired teacher.
