“Shreshta Kala Pracharak Award” conferred to Vikram Kumar

The awards committee of one of the prestigious dance institutes of New Delhi, Ganesa Natyala, founded by Padma Bhushan Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan has chosen Sri B.R.Vikram Kumar for the “Shreshta Kala Pracharak Award-2018”.

Informing this, through a communiqué, the recipient of highest civilian (Padma) awards of the Government of India and founder of the institution, Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan said that, ‘Every year on the occasion of the annual day celebrations of the institute, it honors the eminent personalities and legends who are instrumental in promoting the art, ever since the award was constituted in 2008’.

So far, the institution has honored people  like Dr. Sunil Kothari (Renowned Scholar and Dance Critic), Kalyan Sundaram(Senior Exponent-Mumbai), Dr. Nalli Kuppuswamy Chetty(Chairman-Nalli Group-Chennai), Sucheta Bhide Chapekar(Eminent Dancer-Pune), Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy(Mysore), Dr. Kiran Seth(SPIC MACAY-New Delhi), Raj Sulochana(Cine artist), Shobha Koser(Pracheen Kala Kendra- Chandigarh), Tanakmani Kutty(Kalamandalam- Kolkata), R. Mahadevan(Karnatic Sangeet Sabha- New Delhi) and many more.

The award will be given on the 44th annual celebrations of Ganesa Natyalaya on April, 8, 2018 in New Delhi.
