Sri Nrithya Dhwani Kuchipudi Academy’s 2nd Annual Day Celebrations
The 2nd Annual Day Celebrations of Sri Nrithya Dhwani Kuchipudi Academy, Kondapur, held at Shilparamam, Hyderabad, stood as a vibrant testament to the dedication, vision, and artistic excellence of Guru Swathi Reddy Kavuluri, a distinguished Kuchipudi exponent with over three decades of service to the classical dance tradition.
The thoughtfully curated repertoire, beginning with Ganesha Pancharatnam and concluding with Kathyayani Mangalam, reflected a harmonious blend of devotion, grace, rhythm, and cultural richness. The presentation of items such as Pushpanjali, Bho Shambho, Natana Manohara, Sri Hari Stotram, Dhanasree Thillana, and Raja Rajeswari Ashtakam , Hindola Thillana showcased the students’ disciplined training and growing command over the nuances of Kuchipudi.
Particularly noteworthy was the inclusion of Brahmamokkate in folk attire, which added colour, variety, and a celebration of India’s cultural diversity. The performances revealed not only technical proficiency but also an understanding of bhava, rhythm, and stage aesthetics, reflecting the meticulous grooming of the teacher.
Smt Swathi Reddy Kavuluri, a disciple of renowned gurus Palghat Ramanjaneyulu, Vedantam Krishna Kumar, and Dr. Shobha Naidu, has carried forward the rich legacy of Kuchipudi through her performances across India and the United States. Her vast experience, including performances at TANA celebrations and appearances on prestigious stages nationally and internationally, was evident in the quality of training imparted to her students.
The annual day served not merely as a student showcase but as a celebration of cultural continuity, where young dancers became torchbearers of a timeless tradition. Every presentation reflected the Academy’s commitment to preserving and promoting Indian classical arts through systematic training and artistic excellence.
