Sisters in Rhythm: Harshita and Ruchita Reddy’s Arangetram

Harshita Reddy, a passionate Bharatanatyam student and an IB Class 10th student at The Gaudium School in Hyderabad, and her younger sister Ruchita Reddy, a vibrant student and an IB Class 7th student at the same school, are set to celebrate a significant milestone in their artistic journey: their Arangetram.

Harshita began her tryst with classical dance at the age of 8, while Ruchita embraced the art even earlier, at the tender age of 5. Over the years, both have blossomed into graceful dancers under the dedicated mentorship of their esteemed Guru, Shri Santosh Kumar Tamang, whose guidance has shaped their artistic expression and discipline.

Their training has been steeped in the rich grammar of Bharatanatyam, encompassing the precision of nritta (pure dance and rhythmic footwork) and the evocative depth of abhinaya (expressive storytelling). With every lesson, they have woven together discipline and devotion, technique and emotion, breathing life into this timeless art form. Their journey has also taken them to several prestigious stages, including Shilparamam and Srisailam, where they have enthralled audiences with their performances.

Beyond their dedication to Bharatanatyam, both sisters pursue creative interests that complement their artistic spirit. As an avid reader and painter, Harshita has excelled in visual arts at school, earning admiration for her humility, focus, and graceful stage presence. Ruchita, equally bright and committed, balances her academic excellence with her love for dance while nurturing a keen interest in photography and storytelling—pursuits that enrich her creative imagination.

Their Arangetram is not merely a performance; it is a heartfelt offering—an embodiment of years of rigorous training, reverence for Indian classical heritage, and the blessings of their Guru, family, and the divine. For Harshita and Ruchita, this milestone marks both a culmination and a new beginning: a lifelong journey in the pursuit of art, culture, and spiritual growth.

With deep gratitude, they dedicate this Arangetram to their Guru, their family, and above all, to the divine. The Bharatanatyam Arangetram event happened on 22nd August, 2025, at Silpakala Vedika, Hyderabad.
