Amrit Mahotsav of Diversity – 2024

The Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, inaugurated the second edition of the “Amrit Mahotsav of Diversity” at Rashtrapati Bhavan, marking a grand celebration of India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. This prestigious four-day event, scheduled from March 6 to March 9, 2024, brings together over 500 weavers and artisans from Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana to showcase the vibrant traditions, artistry, and craftsmanship of India’s southern states.
A collaborative initiative of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, this festival underscores the nation’s commitment to preserving and promoting its vast cultural heritage. By providing a national platform for traditional artisans, the event fosters cross-cultural exchange, appreciation, and economic empowerment of local craftspeople.
The “Amrit Mahotsav of Diversity” serves as a testament to India’s unity in diversity, highlighting the significance of traditional arts, textiles, and craftsmanship. It also aligns with the government’s broader vision of promoting India’s rich cultural fabric on a global stage.
