Kalamaasika, a monthly classical music and dance festival was organised by Pariniti Kalakendra at Shivamaya Auditorium in Sagar on August 12. Bharatanatyam artistes Ashitha and Kavita Krishnamoorthy performed various pieces and delighted the gathered audience. The programme was inaugurated by guests Marthappa Shet and Purushotham Prabhu, two eminent personalities from Sagar. They spoke about the classical heritage of Sagar and appreciated the efforts of the organisers and artistes for upholding it. Earlier, Boomika R began the festival with a prayer song and Prithvi Jana, a Bharatanatyam artiste did the compering.
